Family Health & Support Network, Inc.
Family Health & Support Network, Inc. embraces a model of “relationship-oriented foster care". We believe, as the popular African proverb goes, that it really takes a village to appropriately raise a child. Children simply learn and function better when they share positive and meaningful relationships with the people and communities around them.
Therefore our goal at FHSN is not just to provide our children custodial care, but to build and maintain a positive network of caring families, friends, professionals and other community members to function within our network. Our hope is to provide our children in foster care with a stable, healthy and supportive village.
Family Health & Support NETWORK ,Inc provides 24/7 foster care services to displaced children in three local counties; Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange counties of Southern California. We take pride in making the best placement possible for the children who are referred to us.
In order that we accomplish this, we recruit individuals and couples who share our compassion for quality care and supervision. We seek to include people in our Network who understand the unique challenges our displaced children face. And, who are capable and willing to open not just their homes, but their hearts to care for a child that is not their own. We need individuals who will work alongside our professional and well-trained staff and other professionals providing services to ensure our children receive the best care possible while they are with us.
We understand that being a foster parent is challenging. In addition, we have high expectations for our Network parents. Yet, we do not expect that you will do it alone. We are here to help guide you through the process and will remain with you during your association with our Network. Our desire is that you will have a rewarding experience and will soon align with our belief that being a foster parent is an extremely honorable thing to do.village.

Pre-Certification Training:
Family Health & Support Network, Inc. utilizes the P.R..I.D.E. model of training for its foster/resource parents.
All perspective foster/resource parents must complet 30 hours of P.R.I.D.E. (Parent Resources for Information Development, and Education) before they can effectively serve a s a foster/aresource parent in our Network. FHSN employes its own P.R.I.D.E. trainers and offer this training to our foster/resource parents.
Integral to the PRIDE Model of Practice is the understanding that protecting and nurturing children at risk and strengthening all their families (birth, foster, or adoptive) requires teamwork among individuals with diverse and culturally responsive knowledge and skills, but all working from a shared vision and toward a common goal. Resource parents are essential members of this team. They, like caseworkers, require preparation and training to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to be effective in their work. The aim of the competency-based approach is to assure that resource families are willing, able, and have the resources to meet the needs of traumatized children and their families to the fullest possible extent.
